Mellon Forum | Globalization Meets Decolonization: The Urban Linkage, 1940s-70s

The Mellon Forum for Research on the Urban Environment welcomes Cyrus Schayegh (Princeton University) for a presentation titled, "Globalization Meets Decolonization: The Urban Linkage, 1940s-70s."

Cyrus Schayegh is Associate Professor of modern Middle Eastern history at Princeton University. His forthcoming book, Transnationalization: A History of the Modern Middle East, examines how in the Middle East, cities, their ties, and regions inter-played with new nation-states and empires from the mid-19th to the mid-20th century. Schayegh earned his PhD in Middle Eastern and Asian Languages and Cultures at Columbia University in 2004.
