Caste and Race: Global Marginality and Solidarity

With Suraj Yengde and Joshua Guild

Caste matters, and not just in South Asia. This discussion will examine casteist and racist logics of oppression and discrimination, and explore possibilities of global solidarity across social justice movements. The event features Suraj Yengde, author of Caste Matters (2019) and inaugural fellow at the Initiative for Institutional Anti-racism and Accountability, Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School, and Joshua Guild, Associate Professor of History and African American Studies at Princeton University. This event is kindly co-sponsored by the Program in South Asian Studies and the Department of African American Studies.
